Description

An oil tycoon where half the game happens underground. Scan deposits with sonar, steer a drill that turns, haul oil with your own fleet, hold it in a warehouse for a better price and sign contracts where every day counts.

Texas Oil Baron is an oil tycoon where half of the game happens underground, in cross-section. You start with one patch of Texas and one pump. You end up running pipelines, tankers, contracts and crews on several fields at once.

Features

Find it. The sonar reads the ground like an MRI: depth, size, odds. Then you steer the drill. It turns around boulders and branches into the deposit next door.
Build the network. Three pumps can drain one deposit, and one well can reach three. Pumps share tanks through surface pipes, so the layout of a field is a real decision.
Play the market. Over the story a barrel swings between $40 and $170. Sell to the local buyer at half price today, or park the oil in the warehouse and wait for the headline that moves the market.
Move the oil. Tankers haul from your tanks to the warehouse, to the buyer and to contract clients. Refineries, railroads and the army pay more if you deliver on time.
Build a crew. Operators take over the routine: hauling, selling, contracts, repairs. Group them into teams and give a whole team one order.
Expand across Texas. Ten fields to buy, each with its own ground, deposits and infrastructure. The mail brings the news, and Tex keeps an eye on it all from his rocking chair.
